Air University Press publishes special JIPA issue: Arctic Strategy

In the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs’ special issue on Arctic Strategy, the Department of Defense’s senior advisor for Arctic security affairs, retired Maj. Gen. Randy Kee, addresses the establishment of the DOD’s sixth regional center—the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies—in his article In “Securing the Northern Flank.” The article addresses the opportunities and challenges facing the new center and expresses the intent for collaboration among allies, partners, agencies, and nongovernmental organizations.

Coalition forces strengthen close air support capabilities

A joint coalition force recently trained together at Udairi Range, Kuwait, Oct. 20, 2021. U.S. Air Force tactical air control party (TACP) Airmen deployed to the 82nd Expeditionary Air Support Operations Squadron, along with the U.S. Army 1st Battalion 194th Armor Regiment joint fires observers (JFOs) in-training, and the Italian air force (Aeronautica Militare) Task Group Typhoon practiced close air support, fostering enduring partnerships and advancing its decisive combat dominance.

Maintainers keep jets, alliances ready at Castle Forge

Since Oct. 6, F-15E Strike Eagles from the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, have been thundering over the Black Sea region alongside allies from the Bulgarian, Greek, and Romanian air forces. This multinational operation, Castle Forge, is all about agile execution and the ability of NATO allies to generate air power anytime, anywhere.

CSpOC offers opportunity for deeper understanding of allied partners
