Signing Ceremony

Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander and Shoresh Ismail Abdulla, minister of peshmerga affairs, complete the signing of an updated memorandum of understanding between the Defense Department and the Kurdistan regional government in Irbil, Iraq, on Sept. 21, 2022. The memorandum underscores the U.S. commitment to supporting the Iraqi security forces, including the Kurdish peshmerga, in the mission to defeat ISIS.
