U.S., Bangladesh Air Forces will participate in exercise Cope South 24

Airmen from the 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base, Japan, and the Bangladesh Air Force will participate in exercise Cope South 24, Feb. 19-28 at BAF Kurmitola Cantonment, Dhaka, and Operating Location-Alpha, Sylhet, Bangladesh, for a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored, bilateral tactical airlift exercise.

U.S. Airmen and two U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules from the 36th Airlift Squadron will integrate with Bangladesh Armed Forces members and their C-130s during the exercise to advance military airlift interoperability and coalition building between the U.S. and BAF.

Exercise goals include improving interoperability with the BAF and supporting the Bangladesh Armed Forces’ long-term modernization efforts. Participants will conduct flight operations to include aircraft generation and recovery, low-level navigation, tactical airdrop, and air-land missions, as well as subject-matter expert exchanges in the operations, maintenance and rigging career fields.
