    Military Personnel Exchange Program officers strengthen partner countries’ military response

    U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Airmen around the theater have played a variety of roles in supporting the Department of Defense COVD-19 response. Several Airmen, however, have had the unique opportunity to directly assist the Italian air force, the French air force and the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force in their response efforts.

    Capt. Ouma Laouali, the first female pilot in the Nigerien air force, recently accomplished the next step in her pilot career April 22, 2020, by completing her training to become a C-130 Hercules pilot in the C-130 Formal Training Unit’s six-month international pilot training program here at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.

    Nine members of the Polish military’s Medical Corps are in Chicago for 10 days to support the state’s response to COVID-19. The Polish doctors, nurses and emergency medical technicians recently treated COVID-19 patients in Italy and Poland. They are visiting Illinois as part of the Illinois National Guard’s State Partnership Program with the Polish military.

    US, Japan bomber-fighter integration demonstrates dynamic force employment

    In demonstration of the U.S. Air Force’s dynamic force employment model, a U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bomber flew from the continental United States and integrated with the Koku Jieitai (Japan Air Self Defense Force or JASDF) to conduct bilateral and theater familiarization training near Japan April 22.

  • Moody set to host Nigerian AF training

    Air Force officials announced April 10 that Moody Air Force Base will host a stateside mission to train Nigerian Air Force pilots and maintenance personnel on the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft.
  • Leon Plouviez, a graduate scientist from the United Kingdom recently completed a six-month assignment at AFRL, as part of the Engineer and Scientist Exchange Program (ESEP). Plouviez’s time in the U.S. was part of Dstl’s graduate development program, a two-year career rotation with four, six-month placements. While three of those are within Dstl, he chose AFRL for his external assignment.     USAFE supports Italy COVID-19 response

    In response to the ongoing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, an 86th Airlift Wing C-130J Super Hercules out of Ramstein Air Base, Germany, transported an En-Route Patient Staging System (ERPSS) to Aviano Air Base, Italy, for delivery to the Italian Ministry of Defense.
