U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., traveled to Ecuador Oct. 12-13, 2022, to affirm the U.S.-Ecuador defense partnership and discuss future enhanced cooperation. Brown met with Minister of Defense Luis Lara Jaramillo, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Nelson Proaño Rodriguez, and Ecuadorian air force Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Gabriel García Urbina. During these meetings, Brown recognized Ecuador’s critical role in promoting democratic principles, upholding human rights, and advancing security cooperation.
